Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my website.
I’m Juliet Thomas, an Illustrator/Artist based in East London on the edge of the beautiful Epping Forest.
Originally from South Tyneside in the north east of England, I’ve loved making art since I was a tiny tot. I remember my class mates asking me to draw things for them when I was about five or six years old.
Encouraged by my parents I went on to study design and illustration at De Montfort university.
I’ve been working for over 25 years as an illustrator, I make greetings cards which I sell in independent shops across the UK & US and also create art which I sell as prints and original paintings.
I especially enjoy making work inspired by nature, and my children and it gives me great joy to add a few sprinkles of magic along the way.
I love walking around Epping Forest in my wellies, with my sketchbook and pencils, capturing the flora & fauna and imagining tiny elves and pixies who live secretly amongst the ferns and fungi.
I also love photography and work part time in journalism as a picture editor, covering global news, it often feels like we’re living in very dark times. Creating art provides a much needed form of escapism for me.
The process of painting or drawing is very therapeutic I can get lost in my imagination when I’m working on a piece of art, it really is a wonderfully mindful, calming activity.
